About Harrogate, Craven & York Crossroads

Crossroads Care Can Help

Crossroads Care Harrogate, Craven & York offers a  domiciliary based respite care service for local carers living in the named areas. We also offer a service in the Wetherby area.

In Harrogate and Craven we provide an adult service for those caring for someone over the age of 18 with a range of disabilities. In York we provide an adult service plus a service for those caring for disabled children.

We are affiliated to a national body - The Carers Trust, Britain's leading carers' charity, which provides all our important working policies and procedures. This ensures a reliable, consistent and highly professional service.

We can offer a wide range of home based care services. Our well proven, high quality track record can be demonstrated by our latest CQC report.

Meeting Your Care Needs

Our professional staff assess the needs of each client individually, enabling our professional, highly trained (paid) Carer Support Workers to visit the home and take over the care and well being of someone who may have a physical/mental disability or who is frail/elderly. Thereby, allowing the regular (unpaid) carer, who maybe a relative or close friend, to step back and take a break. The carer can use their time to do whatever they want - leisure pursuits, shopping or simply taking time to relax and catch up on some sleep.

For those in control of their own budget we offer sessions from a minimum of 2 hours.

Meet the Office Staff

Allyson Lomax - Registered Scheme Manager

I joined Crossroads in June 2014 as Deputy Domiciliary Care Manager, having had a career break to raise my daughter. I was promoted to Scheme Manager in October 2016.

Previously I worked in advice roles for the Alzheimer's Society and The Carer's Resource. I started my career in teaching but this was interrupted when I became the sole carer my for mum, who had an above knee amputation due to Diabetes, and for my dad who developed Alzheimer's and Cancer. Having experienced first hand the pressures unpaid carers face on a daily basis, I wanted to work for an organisation that offered direct support to carers. Crossroads does just that and I am proud to be part of the team.

When not at work I can be found walking with my 3 dogs, horse riding and being a mummy to my gorgeous little girl!

Anne Hinton - Administration and Finance Officer

I began working for Crossroads in May 2001.

Previously I was self-employed with a mailing and printing business. I then helped to set up the administration and finance for a now very successful NLP business.

I wanted to work for Crossroads as I believed in the concept and ethos of the charity. It also offered me a varied and challenging sector to learn and develop my skills.

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, jewellery making, stitching and knitting.
